Monaco – 19 July 2026 – Following consecutive victories in Lake Como and Dubrovnik, Westbrook Racing by Visit Angola arrived at the fourth round of the 2026 UIM E1 World Championship in Monaco leading the standings and looking to extend its strong run of form. Hosted on the iconic race course in Port Hercule, against the backdrop of the Yacht Club de Monaco, the championship once again transformed one of the world’s most recognisable waterfronts into a spectacular stage for electric marine racing.
Although the weekend ultimately ended without a place in the final, the Team once again demonstrated great pace and strategy that keeps it firmly in contention for the 2026 title.
Westbrook Racing by Visit Angola set the fastest time of the practice day, underlining its pace around the Monaco race course. The Team carried that momentum into qualifying before a electrical sensor issue affected the Racebird performance and ended our run in Q3. The fault was identified immediately after qualifying and successfully fixed overnight by the team’s technical crew, ensuring the boat was fully prepared for race day.
Lucas Ordóñez delivered a very composed drive to finish third in the opening group race, placing Westbrook Racing by Visit Angola in a good position heading into the second heat. Sara Price then made an excellent start, moving into second place after the opening corner of her race before turning at the wrong course mark that ultimately ended with a DSQ (Disqualified), and resulting in the Team not getting into the Finals.
The Team responded perfectly with an outstanding winning in the Place Race, overtaking the home Team through great strategy and limiting the points impact on the Championship standings.
Westbrook Racing by Visit Angola now moves to second in the overall championship standings with 110 points, nine points behind the new leaders Team Brady.
The Monaco weekend also marked an important moment away from the water as Team Owner Will Smith joined the Team in the Principality. His visit reinforced his commitment to the project while providing valuable time with team members, partners and the wider Westbrook Racing organisation ahead of the decisive second half of the season.
Phil Allen, Team Principal of Westbrook Racing, said: “Monaco is definitely one of the most demanding weekends on the calendar, and while we’re naturally disappointed not to have reached the Finals, the weekend gave us plenty of lessons to take forward. We had the fastest boat during practice, our engineers did an outstanding job identifying and resolving the sensor issue before race day, and both drivers demonstrated the pace to compete at the front once again. Motorsport can often come down to small margins, particularly on a race course like Monaco, but the way everyone responded throughout the weekend showed the strength of this group. We’re leaving Monaco second in the Championship, only nine points from the lead, and fully focused on the opportunities that lie ahead at our home race in Angola.”
Westbrook Racing now turns its attention to the Luanda GP in Angola, where the Team will look to build on the pace demonstrated in Monaco and continue its challenge for the 2026 UIM E1 World Championship.
