Luanda, Angola, 7 September 2026 – Westbrook Racing by Visit Angola will head to Luanda for the E1 Luanda GP 2026 on 12–13 September, as the UIM E1 World Championship presented by PIF takes place in Angola for the first time and the Team enters a decisive phase of its 2026 Championship campaign.
The E1 Luanda GP represents an important milestone for Westbrook Racing following the partnership with Visit Angola announced during Team Owner Will Smith’s visit to the country in March 2026. At the time Will said that: *”Africa has always embodied passion and relentless drive. E1 in Angola is more than a moment; it’s a movement. This September, the world will be watching and I’m excited to be part of it!” *
Since the second race of the season, the Team has competed as Westbrook Racing by Visit Angola, using the global E1 platform to support the international promotion of Angola as a tourism destination. Six months after the announcement, the Team proudly heads to Luanda to race in front of Angolan fans, partners and stakeholders for the first time, giving the weekend the significance of a home race.
Throughout race week, Westbrook Racing will work closely with Visit Angola on content, hospitality, fan engagement and partner activities designed to showcase Angola to regional and international audiences. The Team has also developed relationships with local organisations and stakeholders ahead of the event, creating opportunities for local collaboration and engagement around the race. Together, these activities will connect the Team’s international platform more closely with the country it represents and establish relationships that can extend beyond this race weekend.
On the water, the E1 Luanda GP 2026 comes at an important point in this season’s Championship. Westbrook Racing by Visit Angola currently sits second in the overall standings with 110 points, just nine points behind championship leader Team Brady on 119. The Team holds a 35-point advantage over third-placed Team AlUla championed by LeBron James, on 75 points.
The Championship context has also evolved following E1’s latest update to the 2026 calendar. Miami will now host the season finale as E1’s first double-header, with two Championship races taking place back-to-back on 13 and 14 November, while the previously scheduled events in Lagos and the Bahamas will no longer take place this season for commercial and operational reasons. The revised calendar will still feature seven races across four continents, with the two races in Miami offering additional Championship points and increasing the importance of the title fight following Luanda. For Westbrook Racing by Visit Angola, the immediate focus remains on delivering a strong home race in Angola before the Championship moves towards its decisive Miami finale.
Our Pilots, Sara Price and Lucas Ordóñez arrive in Angola following a disappointing result in Monaco following back-to-back victories at Lake Como and Dubrovnik. However Westbrook Racing remain firmly in contention for the Season overall title and will certainly be looking to make amends here in Luanda and get back to the top of the leaderboard.
The Lake Como event marked the Team’s first victory of the season, with Price and Ordóñez overcoming an early setback before winning both Finals. Westbrook Racing carried that momentum into Dubrovnik, where another perfect weekend resulted in a second consecutive victory and further strengthened the Team’s position at the top of the Championship table.
Whilst the Monaco result brought an end to the Team’s run of two consecutive victories it reinforced the importance of good execution as the Championship enters its decisive phase. The focus in Luanda will be on delivering consistently across every session and converting that performance into vital Championship points.
The Team retain its established pilot pairing of Price and Ordóñez for the Angola event, providing continuity as Westbrook Racing prepares to compete at an entirely new venue. With no previous E1 race data available for the Luanda venue, every session will be important in building an understanding of the course and conditions. The Team will focus on gathering information from the opening runs and progressively optimising the RaceBird ahead of qualifying and race day.

With two victories already secured this season and only nine points separating the Team from the Championship lead, Westbrook Racing by Visit Angola heads to Luanda focused on delivering a complete race weekend, competing at the front of the fleet and strengthening its position in the title race for the 2026 UIM E1 World Championship.
