INAUGURAL RUN BLUE RUN CLUB COMPLETES FIRST RUN IN DOHA, UNITING FOR GLOBAL WATER CONSERVATION

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Doha, Qatar – February 20, 2025 – Westbrook Racing and its Sustainability Partner, RUN BLUE, successfully hosted the first-ever RUN BLUE Run Club at the Visit Qatar E1 Doha GP 2025, marking a milestone for the UIM E1 World Championship.

The event saw representatives from multiple UIM E1 World Championship teams join forces with members of the Westbrook Racing Team to run together in a collective effort to raise awareness of the global water crisis. Bringing together passionate individuals and organizations, this initiative reinforces a shared commitment to accelerate action to tackle water challenges, protect and restore healthy rivers and wetlands, and speed up  sustainability.

Mina Guli, the globally renowned water activist and CEO of RUN BLUE who has run hundreds of marathons around the world for water, emphasized the importance of the cause:“Water is essential to the future of our communities and our economies, yet we are in the middle of an urgent water crisis that too often remains hidden. The RUN BLUE campaign empowers companies and inspires people worldwide to raise awareness, create urgency, and drive action on water – and the freshwater ecosystems that store and supply it.”

Phil Allen, Westbrook Racing Team Principal, echoed the sentiment:
“At Westbrook Racing, we believe in using our platform to drive meaningful change. The RUN BLUE Run Club is a fantastic initiative that unites us all for a cause that extends far beyond the racecourse. Water is a fundamental resource, and we’re proud to stand alongside Mina Guli and RUN BLUE to raise awareness and inspire action toward a more sustainable future.”

Yan Lefort, Westbrook Racing Commercial & Marketing Director highlighted the unique engagement opportunities this initiative offers: “At Westbrook Racing, we are committed to creating platforms that extend beyond sport, fostering meaningful connections with partners, fans, and communities. The RUN BLUE Run Club is a perfect example of how we can leverage our presence in global events to unite people around an important cause. Seeing our team members and representatives from the E1 series come together for this initiative is a testament to the power of sport in driving awareness and inspiring action.”

Runners of all levels, including Westbrook Racing team members, and representatives from E1 teams, participated in this inaugural event. The run not only promoted inclusivity but also championed a critical cause—bringing global attention to water conservation and the urgent need for collective action to protect and restore healthy rivers and wetlands, which are central to enhancing water and food security, reducing business risk, tackling climate and nature crises, and driving sustainable development.
