Dubrovnik, Croatia, 25 June 2026 – Angola Westbrook Racing welcomed a group of students and faculty members from the Faculty of Maritime Studies at the University of Dubrovnik during the UIM E1 World Championship event in Dubrovnik, providing participants with behind-the-scenes access to the Team’s operations as part of its ongoing STEM and education programme.
The initiative forms part of Angola Westbrook Racing’s “Powering Performance with Purpose” sustainability strategy, which seeks to inspire the next generation of engineers, maritime professionals, innovators and sustainability leaders by creating direct connections between education and high-performance sport.
During the race weekend, six students from the University of Dubrovnik were invited to spend time with the Team, gaining first-hand insight into the operational, engineering and performance challenges involved in competing in the world’s first all-electric raceboat championship.
The visit was accompanied by Professor Zvonimir Šoša, Electrical Engineer, and Professor Srdjan Vujičić, Master Mariner and Dean of the Faculty of Maritime Studies at the University of Dubrovnik.
As part of the activation, students participated in a practical innovation challenge designed by Angola Westbrook Racing. Working alongside members of the Team, participants were invited to analyse real-world operational and performance considerations linked to electric marine racing, including sustainability, engineering efficiency, data utilisation and race operations. The students were then given the opportunity to present their observations and recommendations directly to team members, creating a valuable exchange between academic learning and professional practice.
Throughout the visit, students met members of the Angola Westbrook Racing technical and performance teams, observed race preparation activities, explored the technology behind the E1 RaceBird, and gained insights into how engineering, data analysis, sustainability and operational decision-making come together within a professional racing environment.
The activation reflects Angola Westbrook Racing’s broader commitment to using sport as a platform to support STEM education and increase awareness of career opportunities within maritime industries, engineering and sustainable technologies.

The Dubrovnik activation represents the latest step in Angola Westbrook Racing’s STEM engagement programme, which is being expanded throughout the 2026 season as part of the Team’s commitment to education, innovation and community engagement across E1 race locations. Through these initiatives, the Team aims to create meaningful learning opportunities while helping develop the next generation of talent across maritime, engineering and sustainability-related industries.
