Westbrook Racing Team Shines Amidst Challenges at UIM E1 World Championship in Puerto Banus

Puerto Banus, Marbella, Spain, Sunday 2nd June – The UIM E1 World Championship event in Spain’s picturesque Puerto Banus saw Westbrook Racing deliver a thrilling performance despite facing significant challenges on the racecourse.

The third leg of the 2024 E1 Championship attracted thousands of enthusiastic spectators to the sunny shores and vibrant waters of Puerto Banus. The E1 RaceBird pilots battled increasingly choppy waters, with Westbrook Racing showcasing resilience and skill throughout the competition.

The final day of the event began with an all-team parade, where Westbrook Racing’s RaceBird technology was prominently featured, captivating fans and VIPs at the luxurious seaview Ocean Club. The parade was the calm before the storm, as the waters soon turned tumultuous, setting the stage for intense racing.

Westbrook Racing faced adversity early on, with a mid-race stall that tested the team’s mettle. Despite this setback, the team demonstrated remarkable perseverance, crossing the finish line in second place. This impressive result highlighted the team’s determination and capability, solidifying their reputation as formidable contenders in the championship.

The race day was filled with drama, with notable incidents affecting several teams. Team Brady, the two-time event winners, were eliminated during qualifying due to a power outage in Semi Final 3. In Final Race 1, Team Blue Rising encountered severe damage, forcing them out of Final 2, yet they managed to secure a fourth-place finish overall. Similarly, Team Brazil’s Catie Munnings sustained race-ending damage to the boat’s front crumple zone.

Amidst the challenging conditions, Team Miami’s Erik Stark showcased exceptional piloting skills, leading his team to their first top-podium finish and securing the overall lead in the championship.

Despite the challenges, Westbrook Racing’s performance in Puerto Banus demonstrated their resilience and competitive spirit, leaving fans and spectators eagerly anticipating their next race. The team remains focused and optimistic as they continue their pursuit of the championship title.
